Centuries ago a family named “Eranezhath” from South-mid Travancore came to Thalikulam in Chavakkad Taluk, Trichur District. A group from this family moved towards south to Kazhimbram and named the family as “Eranezhath Vazhappully”. In the course of time this family was renamed to “Vazhappully”. Due to this historical reference, till now no marriage relations are allowed between Vazhappully and Eranezhath familes (including associated families of Eranezhath like Andezath, Mambarambath and Vengali)
